We are excited to announce a new art-residency pro

We are excited to announce a new art-residency project in Naples, 🇮🇹 in collaboration with @latchkey_gallery, New York. The Guest is @briannabass an American Contemporary artist in residency from October 25th to November 27th 2022. Brianna Bass (born 1990, Knoxville, Tennessee) received her MFA from the Yale School of Art in 2022 and her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga in 2013. Brianna Bass's compositions are a visual dance for the eyes, manipulating our senses through color and shape. Her paintings are characterized by illusions of depth and movement, which translate into sensations of expansion and continuous space. The interaction of shaded colors, created through mathematical formulas, causes subtle shifts that transform and manipulate the other, Separating Bass from his Op Art influences is the imprint of the artist's brushstrokes, which are left visible, exposing the artist's movements. These impasto-like marks rise and fall, allowing for a more emotional and personal reading of the painting. Link in bio to book your studio visit with the Artist!💙

@museopicassomalaga The Picasso museum in Malaga becomes a bastion for contemporary female art with an exhibition by Paula Rego. The exhibition tells the story of this artist’s remarkable life, highlighting the personal nature of much of her work and the socio-political context in which it is rooted.
Rego presents herself as an artist who "has revolutionised the representation of women” The exhibition by Rego is
the first monographic exhibition by a living female artist at the museum, which has only featured four living male artists in the last twenty years. Her paintings, collages and drawings from the 1960s and 1970s fiercely oppose the Portuguese dictatorship, using a variety of sources of inspiration including advertisements, caricatures and newspaper stories.
The MPM will be displaying 80 of her works which will include pieces from the 60s up to recent times with collages, paintings, large-format pastels, drawings and etchings. On view untile the end of August!
