About
In 2020 the Esposito family founded noh-art.
Ernesto Esposito is one of the most influential Italian men in the contemporary art scene. He discovered art almost by chance in 1970, while visiting an Andy Warhol exhibition at the Musée d’Arte Moderne de la Ville in Paris. Following this stunning show, he decided to purchase his first piece of art: Andy Warhol’s “Electric Chair, 1964,” thanks to the advice of Neapolitan gallerist-dealer Lucio Amelio. Indeed, he had the opportunity to meet renowned artists such as Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg, Gerard Richter, Jannis Kounellis, and Gilbert and George when he was only twenty years old.
As a passionate art collector for decades, Ernesto Esposito decided to preserve and pass on his legacy by creating – with his nieces Carolina and Elisabetta Esposito – a unique space which offers a dynamic perspective of their collection. where contemporary artists interact with emerging and established artists in surprising continuity.

Noh-art is the destination of a journey that combines two voices of a generation adapting our family’s art inheritance and Ernesto’s deep knowledge with a new perspective to the art world. Our community can experience and understand the value of contemporary art through an experienced, sophisticated, but younger approach. The collection of the Esposito brothers now houses over 1000 works from 1970 to the present day which include paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures, and installations produced by international artists of various generations from different cultural and geographical areas. Recently, noh-art inaugurated a residency program for young Italian and international artists. Italy’s vibrant art scene, landscape and art history are a great appeal to artists from all over the world. The aim of the project is to host emerging international artists for 1-2 months and offer them the perfect environment to develop different artistic practices with the added benefit of new influences, people, environments, and landscapes. The residency program is mainly thematic, focusing on contemporary art and the problems of everyday life.
What they say about Ernesto
If Art were a woman Ernesto would be the husband, the mistress, the psychologist and obviously her fashion designer. Ernesto is the symbol of a multiple monogamy driven by the continuous discovery of this woman’s personality and toward the scanning of her body.

Ernesto sees contemporary art with the eyes and head of an artist. Sometimes he really scared me because of his ability to predict the new trend. I am obsessed with his shoes!

Ernesto has been the first person supporting emerging artists such as Claire Fontaine, Dan Rees, Helen Martin, Tris-Vonna-Michells in not suspicious time. We consider him our artistic prophet full of energies, ideas and motivation.
